England is known for its quintessential “Full English Breakfast” (eggs, bacon, potatoes, beans, mushrooms black pudding and toast). Lighter fare and places that serve breakfast before 10 am and brunch in general is not as common.

Delaunay (London)
We had coffee and tea at The Counter (the informal café) before heading to West End. Adjacent to it is the namesake restaurant, which is a special treat with breakfast starting at 7 am weekdays (8 am and 9 am on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively).www.thedelaunay.com ✆ +44 2074 998558

Glutton & Glee (Guildford)
This is a small, independent cafe that serves breakfast beginning at 8 am (even on Saturdays) and 9:30 am on Sundays. Eggs Florentine and Eggs Royale (with salmon) were wonderful, enhanced by the yummy Hollandaise sauce. Good tasting, gluten-free bread and brownies are also on offer. Best bet is to arrive early since by 10 am, the chocolate hazelnut cookies were gone. We'll have to go back!www.gluttonandglee.co.uk ✆ +44 1483 452934
